What is the Sumac centre?

It was discussed that maybe not everyone knows what the Sumac centre is, and why it was such an important part of Ben's life.

The sumac is an independent social centre that is run entirely on volunteers Ben was one of them, working behind the bar, cooking food and decorating. He really did love hanging out there

The Sumac promotes cooperation, non hierarchy and sustainailty. We support grassroots groups promoting social and environmental justice, we are not for profit and volunteer run. Ben was dedicated to this ethos.

Above the Sumac is a residential flat that Ben lived in for over 3 years, he also covered to walls with his art

The sumac is in a residential area so at midnight when the volunteers ask us to leave can you please do so as quietly as you can.

The Sumac centre loved Ben and is please to honer him this weekend, his presence will be greatly missed.
